We assemble your individual bicycle of your dreams for you. We do not just believe that a bicycle should meet all your needs perfectly, but we are also convinced that every single part of our value chain should profit in equal measure. That's why we generate and secure jobs in Ghana. Our income grants access to good education and a self-determined life to children in the region.
We are convinced that education is the key to a child's self-determined future. Therefore, in 2017, we laid the foundation of the Yonso Project Model School together with our Ghanaian partner. Upon completion, children from the Ashanti Region will learn critical thinking and self-dependence there.
Independently from that, over 300 scholarships have been allocated and numerous libraries have been equipped in the Ashanti Region since 2014. Moreover, our Bike to School project has been a great success.

Bamboo is a unique material. It is light, extremely stable and is matchlessly shock-absorbing. We combine these excellent characteristics with the best bike parts you can get.
We are travelling to Ghana annually and optimize the manufacturing processes and quality control, to ensure every my Boo frame is perfect. In a caring procedure we control our frames by following a detailed checklist.
Every my boo bamboo bike is assembled by hand at our workshop in Kiel in Northern Germany and is checked by our master-mechanics. When everything is just perfect, your dream-bike starts on its journey to you.
Every bamboo bike requires more than 80 hours of affectionate craftmanship in Ghana. The chosen bamboo canes get attached with glued hemp ropes. These joints are polished and perfected in meticulous handiwork afterwards.
We have now been able to generate more than 40 permanent and fair paid jobs in Ghana!
After passing a detailed quality check, the frames are varnished and shipped to Kiel, where they get assembled into your individual unique bamboo bike.
We are now a team of 10, developing and improving your my Boo with a high level of motivation every day.
We are a young team that operates from our headquarters in Kiel. We are coordinating the production, sales, marketing, product development and our engagement in Ghana from here.
Everything started back in 2012 when Maximilian and Jonas received a photo of a bamboo bicycle from their friend Niklas in Ghana:
Their excitement to build bicycles of a sustainable material in Ghana was huge. After a short research period, their Ghanaian partner "The Yonso Project" was found. This way, we were able to institute a cycle which makes the whole region profit from our engagement right from the start.
