We experience a change on the bicycle market at the moment. It is not about price and mass products anymore, but more and more about individuality and design. There are a lot new innovative and creative bicycle start-ups on the market. Once a month we would like to present one of them, starting with Dalman Supply this month. They create beautiful locks out of natural rope and steel.
The locks are all produced in the US in handcrafted work. 6.5mm thick galvanized steel cable hidden amongst the hemp manila rope is fastened with a ferrule and essentially gives the rope the strength of any standard cable lock. The rope is wrapped around a thimble and fastened into a rope clamp. The clamp is covered by leather, and fastened down with screws. All exterior metal is stainless steel, and recessed into leather, and rope to keep the locks bike friendly. All of the leather is conditioned, waterproofed, and epoxied.
We love the design and the raw-material sisal. We are using sisal for our frames as well to link the bamboo tubes.
That is why we just ordered the first locks from America to our head quarter in Kiel and did the first small shooting with our bikes. Here you go:
The Dalman Supply locks are available in three different colors: black, brown and nature. You can get them in two different sizes: 70 cm and 110 cm. They are available from 80,-€ for the small lock.
If you want to buy a lock like this, just visit the website of Dalman Supply. It will look awesome under the Christmas tree.
All the best from Kiel,
Your my Boo Team
