A bamboo trip through Europe

A bamboo trip through Europe

Tim and Carina have proved that that our bikes are quite suitable for extremely long tours. With their last year’s project boo2east they went on their bamboo bicycles from Hamburg to Chengdu (capital of Sichuan province). They coped with the 12.000 kilometres and hit China in October 2015 after one year. This year again we are very proud to be involved with our boosin these two exciting projects.

Entitled with 3000 Reasons Santiago, alias Meerkatplanet, will ride during the months of July and August of 2016, from Berlin to Madrid on his bamboo bicycle to raise awareness of the benefits of sustainable transport and a healthy lifestyle. His route will take him through Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria and Italy, and through France until Spain. On this tour he wants to get in touch with the various social and cultural aspects to make himself and his followers a picture of awareness about the environmental and health issues in different parts of Europe. Currently he rides his bamboo-bike behind Dresden up to the Czech Republic. Of course, we you can follow him on his blog, on Instagram and on his Facebook page. We wish him a lot of fun, strong impressions and a fantastic time on his tour!

The second fantastic project has launched the offspring of the Farinaro family. In their campaign "Kids for Water" all of the six family members run to collect all the 1800 kilometres from Schleswig- Holstein to Paris to raise funds for a water project in Ethiopia. They cooperate among others with us, the UNICEF Group Kiel and Viva Con Agua. To stay in touch, you can follow them on their website and their Facebook page.

It was the idea of the eleven years old Giuliano and his younger sister Aurora to improve the water supply in Ethiopia. So the younger Farinaros are of course very excited and full of anticipation to put their project into action. Today they came around very early in the morning to infect us with their joy and motivation for their seven-week tour. We keep our fingers crossed and wish them a lot of fun, success and joy and of course an exciting time!
